Located
within the Barracks complex, the Clock Block offers a Kaleidoscope of experiences.
The 'Window On Berwick' transports you back to explore the sights and sounds
of the old garrison town as it used to be.
Burrell at Berwick-upon-Tweed is a remarkable collection given to the town by
Sir William Burrell, who lived in nearby Hutton Castle. While most of the collection
was donated to his native city of Glasgow, over 300 pieces came to Berwick-upon-Tweed
-- including paintings by Degas and Daubigny, Japanese Imari pottery, Venetian
glassware, German pewter and Ming vases.
Add to these fine medieval chalices, ancient Roman glass, a working telephone exchange and fine paintings and watercolours, not to mention constantly changing and exciting temporary exhibitions and you have a fascinating visit for all the family
