The Barracks
For centuries, the citizens of Berwick endured the billeting of soldiers in their houses. At last, in 1719, England's first purpose-built infantry barracks was completed in Berwick. Between 1882 and 1964, it was the depot of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.

Now a site in the care of English heritage, the Barracks houses a complex of museums and exhibitions, together with the Regimental Headquarters of the
King's Own Scottish Borderers.
