Statue of 'Jimmy Strength'
Painter T.S.Good had a number of pupils, one of which, James Wilson, became
the Superintendent of the Lighthouse, as well as being a painter, photographer
and sculptor.
His best known work was a life-size statute of the eccentric beggar 'Jimmy
Strength' (1728?-1844), which once stood on Palace Green. Vandalised in
the 1950s the same remains now lie in the Museum yard.
