Jim Walker

Born in Galashiels, Jim Walker is now Berwick's leading photographer. A bank manager in Selkirk before devoting himself to photography and writing, his first solo exhibition was in 1973.

"A Wake for the Salmon?" was a major photographic record of the decline of salmon fishing. Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1989 was followed by exhibitions entitled "Secret Berwick" and "Remembering Walls". In 1998 Jim published his bestseller "Berwick-upon-Tweed" in the Images of England Series.

The sequel "Berwick-upon-Tweed:- Then & Now" (1999) was followed by an illustrated history of Berwick in 2001.
