Besant's Favourite
Novelist Sir Walter Besant (1836-1901) said his own personal favourite
amongst his works was Dorothy Forster (1884). It is the true story of
the Bamburgh heroine who rescued her brother after the 1715 rebellion.
Her portrait and dress are shown at Bamburgh castle.
