Lindisfarne - The Group

Based in Newcastle this group of five musicians were originally called The Downtown Faction, before adopting the name Lindisfarne in 1968.

They had their first success with Fog on the Tyne (1971) celebrating life in Newcastle. More hits followed but following an ill-fated tour of USA the band broke up in 1975. They quickly reformed and though they only occasionally feature in the charts, their following in the North East remains strong.
