Arts In Berwick -- Music
Public Music
Since the abolition of the Town waits in the 19th.Century, locally based
musicians have mostly been amateurs.
Resident orchestras, such as the Berwick Orchestral Society, have flourished
for a while and then been subsumed into other groups. At the present time
music making is in a healthy state with well attended performances by
the Concert Band, Arts Choir and other groups. In schools interest in
orchestra, folk and popular music continues to flourish.
