On Location at Bamburgh

Film-makers of the 1960s discovered Bamburgh as a location. Here we see Peter O'Toole as Henry II being directed in a scene in Becket (1964). It is the Royal castle in Macbeth (1972) and distant prospects of the Castle also appears in Ken Russell's The Devils (1970) and Derek Jarman's The Tempest (1980). A spy gets his head bashed in on Bamburgh beach in Elizabeth (1998).
